Hello
We are off to sydney australia on Friday Yipee, We have got our nationwide debit & credit cards at the ready and we have also got some amex travellers cheques with us, does anyone now if you are charged commision for cashing these at banks.
I have phoned amex and they have given me some addresses of their offices which wont charge commision but I wondered about banks etc.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

For Oz, I really don't see you needing the Amex TCs. Just keep them as a very last case emergency situation."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Hello Thanks for the link, I have tried this but can you believe Sydney does not come up, but I have just put Melbourne in and it gave me the West pac Bank so hopefully the one in Sydney will be the same.jenniferpa wrote:

It doesn't suprise me - I put in Alice Springs, and that didn't come up either!

I also think that HSBC worldwide will encash Amex travellers cheques fee free as they also issue them.0
