in Credit cards
I've had a look around for this but couldn't find it so thought I'd ask here.
I'm a complete Credit Card virgin & thus what I ask is potentially an embarassingly stupid question.
What is the liklihood of an eighteen year old person, still doing their A Levels with a part time job, got of being accepted for a Credit Card. She's only looking for a low credit limit, a couple of hundred pounds to be there for emergencies.
Have any of you been in this situation? Thanks in advance.

The Egg Card would be worth applying for. My 18 year-old son at uni got a £500 credit limit no problem at all (I think £500 is standard for students). Barclaycard are pretty free with cards for students as well but a BC is not a patch on an Egg Card.0

It's probably worthwhile asking the bank that you have your current account with. They'll be able to see that regular money is paid into your account which will count in your favour.0

Your bank is your best bet.
Many moons ago (well 8 years!) in exactly the same situation. Natwest, who had my current account before I knew better, gave me a credit card with a £2k credit limit, I proceeded to spend all of it.
So a word of caution, be careful, learn to play the game.
Sorry if that sounds patronising, but it took me 5 years to get back from the mess I caused myself.0
