Hi All,
I am taking my beloved to see a (matinee) show in the West End later this month and as we both like Greek food and there are none in our immediate area I thought it would be a good idea to try one in London.
Does anyone have any good recommendations? I have searched through Google etc but I would prefer the opinion of some MSE's.
I would prefer somewhere with a selection of meals rather than just skewered meat or mezes.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't been to any greek places but there's a good Turkish chain called Sofra, and they have a restaurant in Covent Garden

I confirm that the Real Greek is good. It is a chain, but the food is excellent and they do a lovely retsina. The one in Covent Garden is at the top of Bow Street just up from the Royal Opera House. It is mostly mezes and barbecued meat, though. Top Table is a good website to look at. That'd be able to tell you about independent restaurants.0

Real Greek is anything BUT Real Greek -its Real Rubbish and thats from a Greek person!
There are NO decent Greek Restaurants close to theatre land.
How far outside are you prepared to go?
West End and close-ish are Lemonia - Primrose Hill
Halepi - Bayswater
Outside of West End - is Vrisakis - Wood Green - winner of Evening Standard Awards on a number of occasions.
I agree with Sofra - never had a bad meal there, Ishtar in Crawford Street is also good (if you fancy Turkish food)
If I think of any others I will let you know
Have fun!0
