if they are in a glasshouse it is easy, - see if you have some horizontal rods you can tie the tomato plants up to. If not, try and find somewhere to affix some lengths of wire that run parallel with your tom plants grow bags, but above head height.

Then tie a the end of a piece of string around the stem of each tom, between the first and second leaf, making a loop which is about an inch across. Tie the other end to the parallel rods/wires running above our plants, and twist the tom plants and the string together as the plants grow.

Costs pennies and does the job fine - also takes no storing when not in use!

Mortal, they are outside on the concrete, unfortunately there is nothing near them to tie them too.

foreign correspondent, I'm too tired to take in what your saying, but I'll have another read in the morning and see if I can connect the dots! Off to bed now as I can no longer think in straight lines! nn!
SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"

lol - dont worry, it is easy to do, but harder to explain!

However, if they are outside it does not really apply anyway, unless you could create some horizontal lines supports above them to tie them to - maybe like some washing line or wire stretched above them?

Mine are in an unheated greenhouse in large pots and I started off with small stakes but now I have a wire from one end of the apex to the other and tie string around the main stem of the toms (gently) and then up to the wire.
