new vaccum cleaner

warped
my hoover broke (exploded) last night following lots and lots of diy and hoovering up things that i probably shouldn't have
anyway - time for a new cleaner
without wanting to sound like a sterotypical man i have no idea about hoovers or what is needed but see tht dysons look to be pretty good.
I have a mix of laminate and carpets so please could someone steer me in the right direction
£150 budget although no need to spend the lot if i dont have to!
thanks in advance

Hi, A Miele cylinder would be the best for your needs. They are designed for both hard floors and carpets, unlike uprights that are designed for carpets. A Miele will also last a lot longer than any other make, so therefore the most cost effective in the long run.0

I suggest you go to your local library and read Which? That is what I did when I was looking for a new vacuum cleaner and, according to Which? at the time, a Miele cylinder was best.
At one time, Which? ceased to recommened Dyson cleaners because they were so unreliable. Not sure if that is still the case though.
If your have dogs/cats take special note of vacuum cleaners which have good pet hair pickup in the Which? report.
I prefer bagged vacuum cleaners as I cannot stand having dust go everywhere when emptying!!!0 -
I have to suggest this fella!
