Hi
I have a Packard Bell iMedia 1307 desktop PC, Windows XP Home Edition, SP3.
I reformatted the PC about 3years ago and i remember vaguely that i had all the software was pre-installed and i didnt need to put in any CD's. I think i had to press one of the 'F' buttons to get the the reformat going? and im sure there was some Packard Bell pre-installed program on the PC that helped you through it. Can anyone help?
I'd like to reformat the whole PC, how do i go about it?
Thanks

Should i make a master CD/DVD just in case though ?0

You should make one as soon as you get it!
If the hard drive recovery becomes corrupt somehow, the DVD is your only way to restore it. Otherwise you'll have to buy one from Packard Bell.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

From my memory, if you create the discs, it gets rid of the hidden partition for restoring, and you must use the discs.

You can only create one set of recovery disks so dont lose them

You keep the hidden partition though, the reason you get the disks is incase your hard drive fails all together and you get a new hard drive, and in that case you would use the disks to first copy the hidden partition back over, and from there it will use the hidden partition to copy windows back over. Unless packard bell do it a different way...0 -
i'm sure that those scrapyard hells, do it differently, and release the hidden partition back to the user once the discs have been made..
it's been 5 years since i sold them awful machines, so i could be wrong
