I've lost the only key to my 1999 T reg Ford Focus saloon. Any ideas how much it's going to cost to get it sorted if I'm unable to find it? *Kaz sits with everything crossed in anticipation of the keys presenting themselves to her in the morning!*

Probably in the region of £250+. Have you got the code for the key, if not the lock can possibly be read by a dealer and new keys supplied and coded to the car.

Go to ford dealer with proof you own the car (log book) and they will cut you a new key £35 ish. If central locking on key then £80 ish good luck

This would be close to the mark IF you had the RED key.

£250+ is likely if you've lost all they keys, as the car will have to be plugged in to a computer to reprogramme the immobiliser to a new RED key.

Unless the OP has parked there car up and not used it in a year I suspect that they have got a new set of keys.

However for anyone in the same problem, always try looking on eBay, most will have the correct remote key for sale and you will get a blank blade, all you need do is get the blade cut and program the remote and away you go, a huge saving compared to main dealers. :)

I could be wrong but if your going to go the ebay route above you will either need the red master key (for the early cars) or have BOTH copies of the existing key in order to do a chip copy.

My key fob has gone on mine and was considering ebay to get a replacement, its a 51 plate and only have the blue key and the key with the broken fob, is that an issue then ?

Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    Think it could be.
I am struggling to remember the exact issues and pricing from my dealer days but it was something like.

If you had either red master (or then superceded by 2 blues) then a new one would be £60-£80. This was before you could get replacements on ebay so imagine that if those are available then it will be cheaper as you should be able to program it yourself.

If you only had the one then it needed to go onto the special machine and that meant £80 plus.

If you had lost both then it was the £250 mark you were looking at above.

Only ever saw a salesman mention a spare key once in his sales pitch. £80 for a key!!!!! they walked out the door.

    Try eBay :)
You can pick one up fairly cheap (£20-£40)
