faulty watch- do i keep??

I bought a nice watch for my husband thinking it would last a life time, but it slows down/speeds up, and has been repaired 3 times, and the company have not solved the problem (and they refuse to acknowledge the warranty as it was bought online, not from an "authorised retailer"). i am going to claim for a refund through the credit card company i luckily bought it with, as the original internet retailer i bought it from have gone bust. Do i keep the faulty watch AND get the money back?

My view is that if the credit card company issue a refund, techincally, they then own the watch, so the watch would somehow need to go to them.0

No you do not.
You do whatever you are told to do with the watch.0 -
Strange question. Why would you want a faulty watch?0

TBH a lot of watch maunfacturers do not sell direct on line so if it went faulty and you took it to a jewellers or watch maker and the watch may not have been supplied with the genuine guarentee then they do not have to do the work free of charge.
Example : Internation Watch Company who trade online sell Tag Heurs without a Tag Heur g/tee but only with their own g/tee so if it went wrong, Tag Heur workshops would charge for the repair.
Also just so you're aware. if its an automatic watch they do have a tolerence. That means it can lose 4 seconds a day and gain 6 seconds a day and still not be faulty. This is a normal occorance in autmatic movements.

Credit card company will tell you to take it to another repairer and will foot the bill.
Did you really think you are entitled to the penny and the bun?0
