Tree Stump Removal Help

Hope someone can help. In my front garden I had a cherry blossom tree. The roots had uprooted part of my lawn and it was about just under 25ft and about 13 years old. Just over 2 years ago, my dad cut this down right down to about knee height. This has had poison on it (drilled into it) and every 6 months I have also re-treated it with that tree stump poison stuff(?) you get from garden places. It was necessary as the tree had completely taken over my little bungalow and I was also worried as the front lawn is small and I was worried about the roots and my electrics, etc....
Over the week, my dad has now more or less exposed the trunk and got some of the roots up from the garden, but the actual stump removal or grinding of it remains. He has tried to do as much as he can for me so the actual stump removal will hopefully be cheaper!
I am going to call around a few places to get quotes Cheshire area. Does anyone know roughly how much I should be expecting quotes to come in at for professionals, insured, etc.... I was going to try and post some pictures of the remainder of the stump here, but I don't know how to do it!
Thanks,
Rachel.

pity he cut it so short. if he had left it at say head height, it would be so much easier to rock it back and forth to release it. after cutting most of the roots off.
re cost of tree surgeons? about 200/500 quid.Get some gorm.0 -
Without seeing photos it's difficult to advise properly. How high was the original tree and how close was it to the front wall of your house?
You need to get these measurements and check a gardening website to find out what the root spread is of this tree before you try to remove the them. This is because different trees have different root spreads.
To be honest, now that you're down to the stump, I would get a professional in.
I had a quote of £170 last september for the removal of 4 large trees from my front garden including root removal.0 -
Stump busters can be hired from most plant hire companies, if you give them a call you can sometimes negotiate a half day rate if its a quick job. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
