Usually web based email interfaces don't have this option, which one are you using and in Outlook you have an option not to send the read receipt back anyway.0

As far as I am aware, the person who receives your email normally gets the choice of sending the receipt, or not doing so, in which case there is no guarantee for you.
It may be more helpful to request a delivery receipt instead of a read receipt, but the recipient's ISP may not support this, in which case this is not 100% guaranteed either.0 -
Send the email then phone them up and ask them if they've read it ;o)))0
