do you have the mains adaptor with it?
if so car poveer inverters are cheaper and more diverse options
they basically turn your cig lighter into a uk mains socket so anything you plug in at home can be plugged in your car (i say anything but nothing above 100 watts is recommended as they may not work due to the low power output, however satnavs will work fine and laptops will too)Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Sat Navs are usually 12v for in car use and have a 240v charger for home charging so I think the inverter is slightly OTT.4743hudsonj wrote: »do you have the mains adaptor with it?

@marrittm, check the garmin website but in reality if it is an older satnav your best option may be flea bay.0 -

Most Satnavs use the 12v ciggie socket but the voltage is stepped down to 5v input. You can pick up cheap ciggie socket adaptors that have a USB connection and output at 5v, along with a long USB lead. The man without a signature.0
