Totally off topic, but my DD just referred me to this:

*WARNING* IT IS NOT PARTICULARLY CHILD SAFE *WARNING*

It has cheered me up :D Even though I don't watch the Apprentice I appreciated it

On topic, I have started on the kitchen. I doubt I'll finish it all but I'll have broken the back of it. Oh and I had to put the heating on for 10 mins just to lift the chill from the air. It is not warm this evening!

lol that is great Soappie but one I shan't be letting Miss A see! Good and bad news on the passport, I would have challenged the fee for the 7 day turnaround on the basis that their system was not operating.

One tired W in bed already, we (he and I) are going on a school trip tomorrow :D

The 7 day turnaround rate he paid was actually cheaper that the same day rate would have been so there's no challenge really. He had to make a decision then and there. He made the one he thought best.

With hindsight, if I'd known about that situation, I would have told him to still go for the same day, then put him on a train home and BB and I would have stayed up until whenever.

But hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Just dug some stuff out of the freezer for dinner.

Right - here goes....I can't do any worse than I have the past few weeks but my intention is to get back on track this week and stay there.

Magnificent Monday - Kitchen and dining room
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe worksurfaces[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Scrub down the front of units[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]and large appliances and kickboards[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    Wipe and replace small appliances
    Clean out the gruesome fridge
    Wash windows
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Wipe the table and chairs... clean cloth if necessary[/STRIKE]
    Sweep and mop the floor
    clear and wipe window sills
    Extras
    1. Thoroughly clean the cereal/baking
    2. dust and deweb
    3. clean the lightshades
    4. Wipe the inside doors.. inside.. and out!!

Wretched windows getting in there again! I can't REACH my kitchen window - or most of the sill - it's really irritating! Grrr! Oh well, it's a start. I did eventually get most of the way through the enormous pile of shredding which had built up yesterday afternoon - before the shredder overheated in protest!

Oh - in addition to the stuff crossed through above I have also emptied the WM & DW, and put half the next load in the WM too to go on overnight tonight. The time delay in my new machine is excellent - I just set it to go on at about 2am to take account of the cheap electric! A few bits of washing up done to, and filled the rinse aid in the DW which took loads - goodness knows when I last did it!

DH just phoned - he wont be home for at least an hour. I haven't spoken to a living soul until he left at 8am.

Have eaten my dinner, it was very nice. I'm very glad I went to investigate the strange popping noise while it was cooking - I was gradually setting fire to a tray. Hadnt realised how close it was to the hob!

The cooker really needs cleaning too. Perhaps I will create myself a Friday list (as no kids rooms) and put that on it.
