Car Insurance

Hi,
My wife's car is insured for her to drive, and my daughter who has a provisional licence - the best quote to maintain is circa £500.
BUT, I can get a policy for my wife, in her name only for £99, and with another company, for my daughter only, for £250.
SO, a saving of £150.
Is it legal to do this, can the same car have two seperate insurance policies, at the same time, for two different named drivers.
Thanks, in adavance, for any replies.

I really don't think you can, as your daughter doesn't have an insurable interest if the vehicle was damaged/stolen, that is she wouldn't be worse off financially as its not her car. Secondly, if the car was stolen then which insurer would pay out?
Have to admit its a shame though as that would be a massive saving!Top Tip is £450 away from clearing the overdraft and being debt free0
