18yr Daughter and HSBC charges

Hi, my 18yr daughter opened an account with HSBC as she started his first job and needed a bank for her pay to go into. Everything seemed fine and we let her get on with it but recently she was let go due to cutbacks and so we are now trying to help her with her money and so she gave us her statements to check. She has been going overdrawn maybe £20 or £30 BUT Im amazed to see the charges (pre notified) she has been charged. The latest statement shows a staggering £125 charges been made on her account. Im obviously going to go in to the bank with her to ask them about it but would really appreciate your advice first.

Might be worth quoting their fair fees policy and see what they say. Make sure your daughter is with you when you go in otherwise they do not have to speak to you at all.
If they won't refund some of it then start the process as outlined here.

I went to see HSBC who just sprouted rules and agreements and said they could do nothing. The statement showed that for a transaction of £2 (over her overdfraft) they charged her £25 and so on.
I have cleared the account and of course want to try and claim the charges back. Should I close the account now as well or wait while my claim is processed?

I take it theres a step by step guide on here how to claim which I'll search for.

The above is the guide to reclaiming them.
