If you can be bothered to be really organised then put them all into a colourful (can't lose it) ring binder - and then chuck in all receipts/guarantees you get - and any user manuals.
Also, when decorating, make a note, per room, of how much wallpaper or paint was needed - and the name of the product too... you never know when you'll want that info again. If you redecorate a room in 3-4 years' time you'll instantly be able to see how many tins of paint to buy without wondering and over-buying.0 -
The TV people tend to just ignore you, regardless of what you tell them, they just keep sending letters. Therefore I just ignore them these days. As the queen of owning empty houses, I just chuck them straight in the bin. As long as you have a license when you move in, it's all cool.
If there is no TV then there's nothing that they can do. Their oh so clever database is I'm sure is simply the addresses in the country without licenses, they just assume everyone watches TV - I don't think they actually know if you have TV or not unless they catch you in the act
An old house of ours shared two door numbers - had done for donkey's years - not long post-war actually, and they'd send me threatening letters for years; simply wouldn't have any of it that the house didn't exist. Nothing ever came of their stroppy letters, not that they'd have been able to do anything, we only had one house and it had a license!
I remember when I was a kid and they'd send round the
'detector van' - surely that was a load of old poppycock??Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I would have the boiler serviced and gas appliances checked, for safety's sake, especially if the property has been empty.0
