Help? Please? :( Oil Leaking..

I assume you mean the oil pressure relief valve. How bad is the leak? Note that if you check the leak when the engine is cold, it will appear far worse than when the engine is warm - oil pressure in an engine is greater when the engine is cold compared to when the engine has warmed up."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Generally, a oil pressure relief valve does not cause a external oil leak, as its name implies its a bypass device to allow excess oil to flow back into the sump,
incorrect, a oil leak will get worse as engine temp increases because the oil gets thinner as it gets hotterANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0 -
Basically, if amber engine management light comes on & stays on and the is NO lose of power its ok to use, if management light comes on and the is a lose of power DONT use it, if oil light comes ON while engine is running switch off ASAP and get it checked.
Any light is bad, don't run with the engine management light on, take it to a garage.
The oil pressure relief valve is behind a threaded plug in the block, so will leak down the block, if this is what the op actually means. Take it back to the garage, they should warrant it for twelve months.0 -
hey everyone!
rang the garage on monday morning and took it in straight away, they said it was still under warrenty so they would fix it (even tho i got a bill through today charging me for the part?!?!) but it was the 'bit' that i thought it was and it was the same part that broke last time.
The car performs the same but the engine light is always on, whenever i took it into a garage they just seem to charge me for something new and nothing changes, so i cant see the garage being any help. The car runs fine and is reliable for what i need it for (travelling to uni and back) so as long as its got petrol and oil in it seems happy lol
Thanks for all your advise! Any more about why my engine light might still be on is much appresiated!
ooo btw! as its a corsa it has a display that shows the time, date and temperature on the dash board.. anyway for some reason the temperature is now showing random temperatures.. at highest it was 69.5 degrees and at lowest it was -40 degrees... can anyone suggest what might be up with that?
