Curtains with a 70 cm drop...

Need to look for curtains with only a 70 cm drop by about 80cm. However in many shops they are around 120 cm drop. I think it only leaves me to getthem made specially. Can anyone recommend where to do this?

I think the shortest drop with ready mades is 54" or 137cm. If you prefer ready mades, and they can be quite a bit cheaper, can you find somebody to shorten them for you?

Or there are lots of shops that sell curtain fabric and will make them to your measurements. Dunelm Mill springs to mind but there are lots of others.

silly question but when looking in shops it says 80 by 40 for example. Now does that mean each curtain is 40 in width OR 40 alltogether ie from one side of the frame to the other? My pal says its fom one side to another and i thought it was per curtain.

it is per curtain BUT you don't use 40+40=80 for an 80 wide window - you normally want double the width for gathering, so for an 80 wide window you should use 80 wide curtains ( depending on the type)

Buy longer curtains and some iron on hem tape like this http://www.habbyworld.co.uk/sewing_shop/index.php?p=catalog&parent=52&pg=1

Cut the curtain down to the length plus say 4cm and then fold the bottom 4cm up and use the iron on hem. Easy and cheaper than made to measure curtains.
