It's difficult to say without knowing the area. A 45 minute commute on some roads is a pleasant drive, in other areas it's a 45 minute nightmare.
In some areas the coast is a good place to be, in others it's not.0 -
Good grief noone can answer that for you! Some people get used to commutes much longer than that. Some people hate even 20 minutes.
thanks so much for everyones comments, i now have a lot of questions to go back to the estate agents with, and will let you know how it goes :money:
how exciting!:j0 -
oh one more question... is there a standard length of time between an offer being accepted and the contracts being exchanged (assuming no chains on each side) or does it vary widely from circumstance to circumstance?
thanks0 -
Is it painted white on the outside? With what looks like railings round it? And the windows boarded up?
If so, doesn't look easily mortgageable, if at all, to me.0 -

(when i say by the coast, it has sea views but is 0.5 miles away from actual coast)
do you not just get the mortgage all in one go!?
Most couples find a one bed house is too small. It will take you a few months to complete this sale, then a good few months to make it habitable, by which time surely you will have been with your partner for over a year?
What would you do if you accidentally fell pregnant? Have you looked into the holiday let idea - is there a market for one beds in the area, what price would you get? How is the recession affecting the area and your business?
The mortgage provider can withhold sums of money against any major works that the structural survey throws up - damp, windows, kitchen bathroom, electrics ... You may only get, say, 80% of the habitable value initially, and have to find the money for the other 20%. Then you have to find the money to do the work; once you have proof the works have been completed the bank releases the other 10%.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
