No they did not state 'Fixed PCN' .. just PCN on the notice. Hence will not be reporting them for fraud...

They must have changed their paperwork very recently then, your description does not match the very recently obtained examples I have from this company.

Could you post up some scans or digital photographs of their paperwork please. But of course please first remove all personal identifying details.

What did the yellow envelope say ?

Yes - They do not have any authority to issue Penalty Charge Notices.

    You are home clear:

Its a criminal matter now. :)

Thanks guys... but what do I do? Report them? Write directly to them AND report them?

I have scanned the images but cannot upload at present due to forum regulations for newbies I guess. Do not have access to any webservers for links.

On the original PCN it is titled 'Parking Charge Notice', and then later on the form it states ' A PENALTY Charge Notice Has Been Issued For' failure to display a valid pay and display ticket.

The reminder letter states 'Parking Charge Notice' and refers to that again. Can I still report them based on the intial PCN?

Unfortunately I threw away the original envelope for the ticket and cannot remember what it stated!

Wow - this exact same thing happened to me yesterday, really ruined my day, and I thought I'd come on here for some advice.

I was at a local hospital, and pulled up behind the Tesco Express in what I thought was an ordinary parking bay so that I could run in and get a drink and sandwich. There was a short queue, so I was about 4 or 5 mins tops - got back to my car just as 2 uniformed guys were sticking this "fixed penalty notice" onto my car. They were also taking photos. When I asked what I had done wrong they pointed to a small (about A4) sized sign on a wall. I hadn't even noticed it before, could have been a poster or anything.

So the exact details - Yellow plastic envelope with yellow / black chequered border saying "FIXED PENALTY NOTICE".
Inside is a "Parking Charge Notice" issued by AM Secure Services Ltd, saying that "a penalty charge notice has been issued for...failure to display a valid pay and display ticket or permit". They want £120 within 21 days or £70 if paid in 14 days.

This car is actually owned by someone else [edited for privacy]. I did take some quick photos before I left of the signage which I think was inadequate.

So am I right in thinking that I shouldn't appeal to this company, but just wait and see?

I am really pushed for time today, but will try and upload images of all this tomorrow in case it helps anyone.

Only £120? Sure they don't want two pints of blood as well?

There's no point in appealing (please, Mr Mugger, don't take my wallet) and even less in wasting time scanning in their dodgy signs and even dodgier paperwork.

Just file it away, ignore them resolutely, and get on with your life.

Pursue redress through court, against both the landowner and the clamping company, if you wish the return of your money.
