    Hello fishhawks

As olias says, I think you've ruined it. The best way to avoid this in the future is to turn the t shirt inside out and iron with a cool iron.;)

I'd still have a go at trying to remove the smudges by carefully ironing over them (and not the rest of the transfer:D), so that the smudged transfer sticks to the iron hotplate and then clean the iron hotplate and repeat the ironing until all smudged transfer bits are removed.

I clean my iron hotplate with a bar of beeswax (wrapped inside a linen handkerchief) and gently rub it over the hot iron hotplate, then wipe the beeswax off with a clean cloth.;)

If you don't have any beeswax, try some furniture polish as a substitute.

Let us know how you get on...............and remember to iron garments inside out if they have a transfer.

    Regards
