For some reason Firefox has started auto clearing my cookies when I close the browser down, it only started this morning. I have checked all the options and the setup of the tools/privicy boxes are still set as they were yesterday.
Can anyone tell me why this has started to happen please.

Thanks

ps I dont want it to auto clear, I usually clear them one a week etc.

Tools - options - check your tabs and look what has been selected and deselected

    Hi
I have gone through all the tabs etc and I cannot see anything different to yesterdays config.
Sorry for sounding a little dumb but it's confusing the hell out of me.

    Thanks x

What are the setting under privacy, cookies, and private data, and the associated buttons.

Have you installed any cleanup software?

    Hi
Under cookies, Accept cookies from sites is ticked and keep them till they expire is selected.
Always clear private data etc is unticked.
    Ask before clearing is ticked.

    Thanks

    1. Open Firefox
    2. Type "about:config" in the URL bar without the speech marks. Accept the warning that comes up.
    3. You will see a list of settings with the second column being the status - default or user set. Customized settings are in bold.
    4. Scroll down to privacy.item.cookies. Is this bold?
    5. Scroll down to privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown. Is this bold?
    6. If either are bold then right-click and choose Reset
    7. Close Firefox
    8. Test

Upto you... ;) I've left mine on the default tick boxes and I've had no detrimental side effects. Quite the opposite.

If this doesn't resolve it I'd suggest uninstalling Firefox from Add / Remove programs, rebooting, then installing again: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
