redundancy job seekers and self employed

hi all newbie on here
ive just had my 5 weeks notice for redundancy of my employer
im thinking of going self employed as there is no paye jobs
in my line of work
wouldnt be earning much from now to april 5k max
what do i do!
i know about setting up beining self employed
do i contact jobseekers or do i get help from wtc
my partner works 32 hrs 12k
we have 1 child
