Saving for Holiday

I want to save for a holiday in 18 months time. I am thinking of, say, £150 a month.

Any recommendations or is the amount so low that it won't really matter?

Comments

  • If you can keep to 150 a month for 12 months, Abbey or halifax still have their 7% fixed rate/regular savers going. Max. is £500/month for Abbey and £250/month for halifax. Minimums are around £20/month I think.
  • I think given the amount (£150 per month), the regular saver account may be overkill, as you'll need to ensure that it is funded regularly, and any surplus, if available, is earning close to 5% in another high-paying savings account. A relatively hassle-free option might be an egg savings account at 5.5% for the first six months at least.
