Westminster Council - Residents parking Bay

So I received a PCN today which I was very upset about from Westminster Council for being parked in a residents permit.
I was actually parked on a single yellow line OUTSIDE the residents permit.
Has anyone challenged the council before - Ultimately it will sound like my word against theirs which will mean that I will have to pay it.

Is it worth appealing (and potentially having to pay £120) if the appeal fails under these circumstances. I feel very very lost

The first thing to do would be to post up the ticket here (both sides) using the howto in the stickies and let the experts have a look. Its almost always worth appealing, a large percentage win. Councils rely on drivers accepting they have done wrong even when they have'ntI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
