Claiming no claims as a provisional licence holder - Tesco

First of all sorry if this has been asked before, i cant find anything on the subject though.

As a fairly new driver looking to insure a high cat car, I am just wondering the level of no claims i will be entitled to under a tesco policy. It is quite complex so i will try and break the paragraphs down a bit in order to aid semantics.

Basically I have been insured on the same car as a named driver with tesco since 03/07/2007. This policy was initially on my provisional licence and was then updated when i passed my test in April 2008. Later that year my mother purchased a new car and my sister took on her old car as the primary user and driver under a new policy (with me as a named driver of course).

Therefore I effectivly have 2 years no claims as a named driver on the same car come next month.

My question is, can i claim those 2 years no claims if i decide to take out a new policy in my own name on a different car?

The reason this is key, is because, for the car i am trying to insure tesco require 2 years no claims. Effectivly I have this providing tesco accept 2 things

A.) Accept my no claims for the period from 03/07/2007 to april 2008 when i passed my test

B.) Can accept that this was claimed over 2 different policies rather than a continuation of the current policy. The first in my mothers name, until she purchased a new car (also insured by tesco) and hence my sister got "the old car" as her own.

I will phone tesco regarding this on Monday but some clarification beforehand to provide me with some amunition would be great!

The chances are it'll be ok as its still through tesco. You dont need ammo, they'll either give you it or they wont. Theres no negotiating.
After the year though, if all goes as it should, Tesco will give you 3 years NCB. If you move to another insurer though, you'll probably only get a letter from Tesco saying 1 year NCB.

I was in a similar situation when I was a named driver on my previous car. From experience with Tesco, as long as you stick with them on the insurance you will keep the NCD. If you were to switch to another provider you will lose the no claims.
