Setanta Sports - they SUCK!!!

I have NO idea why we re-subscribed to this shower of s#*t - mainly for the boxing & West Ham matches really, but cancelling the subscription was REALLY painful!
Despite me informing them by phone AND recorded delivery, mysteriously, the letter didn't arrive until after the billing date (even though I have a record of the date of posting) - therefore they want to charge our card full price for an extra month.
I've spoken to our bank, who have asked us to send a copy of the letter, with a covering note explaining the situation & even the CSA advised me he'd heard it all before!!!! Setanta really don't do themselves any favours - the picture was barely watchable at times too - so I'm !!!!!!ed if we're paying the extra month.
Kudos to A&L too, for being able to help us without any problems!

They are in serious financial trouble, according to press reports, so they are doing all they can to maintain their income streams e.g. by making it very hard to cancel.0

Were'nt they on Watchdog for both of those things? Bad picture and being difficult to cancel.
How were you paying? DD? For anyone else, once you've sent the letter and have given them enough time, cancel your DD so they can't take the money out, then if they ask for payment explain you phone/sent a letter to say you've cancelled.0 -
It took us ages to cancel from this crowd, ignoring letters, ringing up and demanding payment...would NEVER EVER go back to them, advise anyone to go with them again0

The Times paints a gloomy picture today:

Bank Charges
HSBC - £4210 RECLAIMED!!
Nationwide, Cahoot, Alliance and Leicester - I'm coming for ya!0 -
They are currently working on destroying the SPL
I support Rangers so there will be no financial troubles there but if they collapse there is a big chance the smaller clubs (Falkirk etc) will fold. The SPL has already paid each club £3m out of their own funds to try and keep them in business over the summer!
What a bad business plan Setanta!!
ESPN are currently in take-over tallks so hopefully they will be much nicer to deal with!
I remember when they were offering new customers £9.99 and I was paying £14.99 - had to put up a fight to pay the same as new customers!!
