Hi Jamie,
That's great news! What are you going to do with it? I know you'll be tempted to put it straight on your debts (and this might not be a popular suggestion), but I know how hard you've been working to be debt free - could you give yourself and the kids a wee treat using half and pay the other half towards your debts?
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500

Great news jamie, heres hoping the Halifax do the same for me :dance:0

oooh I love these bank charges good news!! Wicked!!:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
hi scottish......
well, i was planning on using the money to clear a bit more off the abbey overdraft lol
kids and i are going out for dinner tonight which is all budgeted for as its DS1's birthday and we are going bowling too!
and next week it is my birthday and i have been squirreling away £1 coins for 3 months for this....going for a chinese and then clubbing (havent been out for 6 months!!!)
and out tomorrow for lunch as it is my sisters birthday (my parents are paying!)
so i really feel we are having some treats anyway (might keep back £10 though and take them to wacky warehouse in easter holidays when DS3 is on respite)
my kids have low expectations and are happy with anything we do so i dont feel tempted to blow it on rubbish!!!
in fact when the letter came through this morning, the birthday boy said and i quote..." cool mum...are you gonna pay it into your isa coz thats 5.2%?"
thats my boy!!!!!!November NSD's - 70
