what to do with damaged colour laser printer

i wondered if you guys had some advice on where i could get rid of a laser printer. the bt box in the street was hit by lightening the other day and eveything connected to the phone line was fried. this included my printer which was connected by the network cable to the router. :(

the printer is only 13 months old and still powers on but i have been told will cost around £200 to fix. i really would like to try and sell the toners as they still have about 1000 prints left each, to try and offset the price of a new one. failing that is there anywhere that would make use rather than having to take to recycling centre?

thanks

matt

Take it back, there’s been lots in the press recently about a euro law that gives an automatic two year guarantee with the retailer

I don't think it being struck by lightning would be covered under guarantee. Is there any chance of claiming off the house insurance for the repairs or claiming off BT?

Do not give it away! Nowt for nowt in this world, sell the working components on Ebay and get some of your money back, charity begins at home. ;)
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
