I take it that they took you to court and then you went and explained and tried to come to an agreement about the arrears?????
  • dont recall ever seeing a court letter, but my little one thinks he is postman pat, I have found our post in the street either that night or the next day and blamed the postman until I caught him doing it one day !!, but it may well have come during my depressive state and if it did, would not have been even opened

OP, I don't quite understand the chain of events here. You said in you original post it was because of arrears from years ago that you had forgotten about, then later you said it has accumulated in the last 3 years?
I think if you could set out the situation in a bit more detail then people on here will be able to offer better advice for you.

  • hi sorry if confused the first default was three years ago, and it has accumlated since then x

similar happened to my Mother in law in feb

She hadnt been paying for 1 whole yr - claiming she knew but had no money to pay- thats crap anyway btu thats not the point

She had to tell her hubby at work, - he came home - the mortgage was in his name only

1- you will get more than one opertuniy to go back into your house for things - they were in baout 4 in 1 month - just ask estate agents
2- they have now gottn there house back - by paying £4k that was owed and proving they would contuniue to pay mortgage
3- where are you living at the moment - as if you had no where togo - they are not alowed to make you homeless with kids under 16
4 - a solictor told them - in this climet the mortgage people etc do not want to have to sell the house - as every1 knows houses are harldy selling at the moment they would rather you got it back - so if you cannot boroow the money from any1 etc or get it, try arranging a new payment black with mortage, either add on extra years to mortgage, agree to pay a% more each month to clear
