yesterday our house was taken off us, all my fault for arrears I completely forgot about years ago... so now we have 7 days to move out (apparently we are lucky getting that !!) but our lenders have said we can still keep the mortgage as long as I show them my recent payslips and a letter saying we still want the house and pay them £10k up front... how did I mess up, at mums with two kids and bump on way and all of our belongings in a house I am not allowed access too unless escorted by an estate agent... hoping to get some advice on monday but unless I can fund the money then the house will be sold... have had to tell OH over skype as he works away and obviously not happy and in shock, I dont think he has realised the stage we are at, I feel so ashamed to speak to him just keep crying all the time even walking round the shops this morning, when getting the kids some emergency clothes and school clothes... I feel so low, I know this is probably not hte right place to put this but need to say it out loud if that makes sense, please if you know me on facebook do not say anything on the wall or anything please xx have never felt so low never knew rock bottom was so 'rock bottom'

How many years ago, how far back is this debt?? Is it your personal debt, nothing to do with your husband? Did you get court papers? Was this debt associated with another property?
Is the debt associated with one of the main Building Society, or a sub-prime lender. It could be that you are being rail roaded into handing over your house without the correct procedure being followed.
We can't help you unless you give us some more information.
Monday morning you need an emergency appointment with the Citizen Advice Bureau.

I sympathize with you BUT what you need is advice not everyones sympathy - I would get yourself over to the other boards:
Bankruptcy & Living With It
There will be people who are going through/have been through the same situation - who can give very specific advice
Followed by some of the other boards about managing your money
No disrespect to the people here but I think this on the wrong board0 -
Sorry I'm not knowledgeable enough to help, but be assured that there are lots of people on these boards that are(like AMD & others above), & I'm sure several more will be along soon. Didn't want to just read & run, will be keeping my fingers crossed that they can help you sort things out. Take Care.

hi it has accumlated over the last three years, I don't remember seeing any papers but am sure there has been some (have been suffereing with depression as well since we lost a baby 18 months ago) and chose to ignore (stupid I know).. the mortgage is in my name only, my partner sold his house a few years ago and moved in with me (he must hate me so much right now)... my mortgage was/is with GE money but I believe that the keys to the property are now with the halifax estate agents (possibly who the bailiffs use) who I need to contact to gain entry but I didn't want to ring and say ok lets get some stuff in case I am only allowed one entry or that is what they say, luckily my local village has a cab that has the surgery sessions so I am hoping I can get in there first thing to see someone... there is no other property invloved at all, i worked so hard to get myself out of debt when i was about 19 (33 now) and to get a mortgage and keep on top of it I only have myself to blame.. xx thank you all so much xx0
