Help on Lincolnshire as a place to live - please?

In a recent post I outlined how I am trying to help an ex employee look at buying a shared ownership house anyhwere in the UK. He has enough for a 25% share.
After looking in some detail I have found the more affordable places in Linclonshire -- Louth, Gainsborough, Sutton on Sea, Skegness, Ingoldmells, S!!!!horpe, Wragby, Burgh Le Marsh, Mablethorpe and Gainsborough.
Does anyone have any advice as it is not an area with which I am familiar?

A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.

Not much info chickmug in your post, but the consensus in the Sobraon household from your list is Loowuth (Louth). Reasons: in the Wolds, good access to the coast, good range and types of community activities, grammar school, distinct from Lincoln and it is a nice town see: http://www.louth.org/index.htm
For (more) peace of mind it is also worth checking Lincs Police " Crime Mapping" for areas being considered, for instace here are Louth's (St Mary's beat area) info : http://lincspolice.crimemapper.co.uk/map/?q=St+Mary%27s&url=st-marys

Hmmm...I not sure if I'm reading that crime map right or not. I thought that Grantham was a !!!!!hole but that Stamford was a lot nicer. Looking at the crime map they seem about the same.0 -

But the "high" crime area for Stamford covers the whole town where as the Grantham one only covers a bit of it. Surely I'm reading it wrong. If you compare "anti social behaviour" crimes for both areas they are similar. Hmmmm.....I'm confused.0
