Discontinued Insurance = Loss no claims?

A few months back I suggested to my elderly Mum that she discontinued her contents cover for her small house since her valuables wouldn't cost more than a few thousand altogether. However, she has recently rented a flat screen TV and they are insisting on £3 a month insurance cover if her home isn't covered.
Has she lost her no claims now? Something to bear in mind if under similar circumstances.

There is no universal system for no claims on home insurance. Most companies will ask you for your number of "claim-free years".0
