Thanks I have found the templates and have roughtly done my first letter.
Also the loan was done firstly in my ex's name and me named on it as I owned the house it was secured on!
So does this mean he has to claim it as the insurance would have been on him and not me?MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I expect you have already come across this information but will post it anyway.;)
In regards of reclaiming the PPI, they have 8 weeks to respond, in the link below you will come across useful information, also templates and a checklist.
You can use the templates to help you but write your own reasons, you can just use the template as a guideline if you want to.

You may need to send another letter if they do not give you a favourable response in the first letter, they normally tell you that you can write back with further information.
In the final letter they should give details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if your not satisfied with the outcome of the response you can go to the FOS for them to investigate if eligible.
Post by recorded delivery to ensure you have proof of posting, and let us know how you get on, good luck and ask for help when required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Is it a case of being mis sold when it says it is an optional payment?
One was taken out in 03, then 04 and condensed in 05.
PPI on 1st one £1800 then £2250 and then £9086, this last one says interest on that is £11356.00!! I cant believe that, its dreadful!!
Whats SAR?
Hi hun
If it states optional they should have given you the choice, if they did not for any reason then yes, its a mis sale.
On the loan insurance link I posted above, there is a checklist, also check that in case there are further reasons to add to your letter that may also occur to you.;)
Its extortionate, very costly indeed and not to forget the interest on top of that as well.
You do not actually require the figures for the reclaiming letter though but they would come in handy later on in case you need to refer to them.
However, if this went as far as the FOS, they would make sure you receive back what is yours, all the ppi, interest and the 8% interest of what a court would award.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Good, glad you got a letter sorted.;)
If its joint I do think your ex would have to be involved as well, depends if the insurance covered you both I think, if the insurance was just cover for himself you still have a part of it though because both names were still signed for the loan.
If your on good terms maybe you could have a word with him.
Melorablack may know more on how this one will work.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Well he was actually the one that told me about it today as he has claimed on a couple of loans he has had. I am hoping that he will claim and let me have it but i doubt that very much
even though i paid the last three years of it!
After reading the checklist I have added a few more things to my letter as if i read it right he was the only one covered and it was my house that was secured and I would still have had to make payments if he stopped! He walked away from the house equity and I got left with the loan (which was fair as I was quids up there)
Thank you very much for your help and quickness in your replyMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I think it should work out okay then, good luck.;)
Like what Melorablack says, its best to claim separately, because I think they may only deal with them one at a time anyway, not sure, but not only that you know then what money is what for each one.;)
So yes send separate letters for them all.XXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
OK think I will do the big one first then
thank you all
