hi euronorris,i found with my experian report that there was no account numbers either, only account start date, credit limit, prev acc history and the balance.

Glad I'm not the only one! Oh well, just have to try Sainsbury's on the phone. I have a feeling they won't know though......lol

I already tried sending them a letter, with all my personal details, but not the account number. Got a letter back saying they couldn't locate a current agreement for me and to write back with a valid account number.

If they had read the letter, they would see that I wasn't asking about a 'current' account, but a settled one.

    Idiots!

Euro - haven't you got any old bank statements? If you paid by DD it usually has some account reference number on the statement. Good luck with it.

Three Little Pigs went out to dinner one night. The waiter came and took
    their drink order.

'I would like a Sprite,' said the first little piggy.
'I would like a Coke,' said t he second little piggy.
'I want beer, lots and lots of beer,' said the third little piggy.

The drinks were brought out and the waiter took their orders for dinner.

'I want a nice big steak,' said the first piggy.
'I would like the salad plate,' said the second piggy.
'I want beer, lots and lots of beer,' said the third little piggy.

The meals were brought out and a while later the waiter approached the table and asked if the piggies would like any dessert.

'I want a banana split,' said the first piggy.
'I want a cheesecake,' said the second piggy.
'I want beer, lots and lots of beer,' exclaimed the third little piggy.

'Pardon me for asking,' said the waiter to the third little piggy,
'But why have you only ordered beer all evening?'

    The third piggy says -

'Well, somebody has to go 'Wee, wee, wee, all the way home!''
    :p

Unfortunately not. I have since changed banks also.

I called Sainsbury's. The guy tried his best to find it, and he did find my record, but....it can't be accessed without the account/ref number, which I don't have! lol

OK, only option left is to call Equifax and try to figure out why it won't let me register!

    PAIN IN THE @RSE!!!

I feel like I am hitting my head against a brick wall. Why would anyone set their systems up in such a way?

I understand that the info would now be archived (account settled in 2005), but.....the info should still be accessible via names, addresses, dob etc. Otherwise, what is the point in holding onto the info in the first place??

Figured out the issue with Equifax........I'd accidentally left a space at the end of my name. It therefore didn't recognise it and so wouldn't work! lol

Guess what, still no account numbers. It shows the last four digits of the account number and that's it. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
