Hello
Just wondering if anyone knows the maximum number of names that can appear on a house deed? My family want to buy a property but there are 4 people who want an interest and I'm not sure if it's possible to have more than two names on a deed?
Thanks in advance for any anwers...
Cheers

Certainly at least three (was the case for mum-in-law, wife & sister-in-law) and AFAIK not limit - ask landregistry for the definitive answer/...or ask your solicitor (you'll probably want a solicitor anyway to ensure the who-owns-what-share, what-happens-if-one-wants-to-sell, what-happens-if-one-dies is agreed up-front & on paper... ). If solictor doesn't know find another solicitor...
Cheers!

Not sure if there is a limit on how many people can apppear on a deed but the maximum for entry on the register as far as the LR is concerned is four people.0

Four people is correct.0

If four of you are buying one property together then you want to be absolutely clear and agreed as to whether you are buying as joint tenants or tenants in kind. The potential for hassle later is immense with so many buyers. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
