hello basically i would like a ''free'' good quality program that records any streaming video from the web, I have goggled for some but there are loads and i would be great full if i could get some opinions from people who have actually use this software. only limitation is that i dont want a big program as space is running out on laptop. thank you.
EDIT: i dont mind a program that you can put the URL of the site in and record the video that way long as i can edit it later and just have the video selected.

Nothing directly that might help, if it's audio then download Audacity install it along with the LAME Enc mp3 converter. Play the source, press 'record' on Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Install this: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/video_cache_view.html then watch the live stream, once it's finished then retrieve the stream usually an .flv file. Then simply edit till your hearts content.
Otherwise check out the many alternatives: http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm
And a few more: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-streaming-recording
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
You dont want a big program as your running out of space. BUT ~ you want to save VIDEOS

Methinks youd better have a clearout:idea:0 -
I use the DOWNLOADHELPER add-on with Firefox to get all my streaming stuff -- Once loaded you just start the "Stream" and get the download helper to DOWNLOAD the file to your drive without watching it all the way through -- much faster .. Dave0
