25:1 two stroke oil mix

I have a petrol mower which needs a 25:1 two stroke oil mix. I have ....

5L (1 gallon) of petrol
100ml of two stroke oil labelled 50:1

Do I put the half the oil in the petrol, as the oil is described as "50:1" and I need 25:1

???? :confused:

Just a girl, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do :rotfl:
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

    You need one part of oil to every 25 parts of pertol. The best way to do this is to by a mixing bottle as it is only advised to mix what you can use in 30 days. The mixing bottle is marked so you add a litre of petrol and top up with oil to the 25:1 mark.

    you need 200ml of oil for 5L of petrol, so if you have a spare petrol can, pour half the petrol into it and all of the oil.
    5L = 5000ml/25 = 200ml of oil.
