    Thankyou all so much.
    Our situation is very confusing !!

    I will appeal the decision but I think you are right in regards to the inheritance capital. I did originally apply for this in my fathers name as he is the Tenant and my mother is dependant on him. However they told me I could not do this as he was in prison, and that I would have to apply in my name.

    My mother gets no benefits although am waiting to hear about DLA and carers.
