Advice Needed on Selling From A Distance

I am about to sell a cottage which I own in a town 100 miles away. It is empty and I have asked a local agent to take on the sale. Any advice about selling from afar? How do I keep tabs on the selling process? Would you use a solicitor in the house's area or my own area?

I think you're doing the best thing in selling
refurbishing a property is such hard work and virtually impossible from a distance.
It doesn't really matter where the solicitor is based. If you have one that you've used in the past, I'd be inclined to go for the devil you know! Otherwise, one that comes with a recommendation froma friend or relative.
Good Luck with the sale - I hope you're going for 'offers over'...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
