  • I am so dissappointed this morning. I'm into the 2nd month of my DMP with Payplan, everything appears to be going well apart from Barclaycard! Grrrrr. . . I've had a statement today & despite me making a payment to them every month my balance is going up £11 every month! They are still adding interest (it isn't a huge balance £420) & also adding £12 late payments!!
I just feel these companies ask you to contact them if you have a problem & they will try & help you!! Yeah some help there! Sorry for my whinge it just makes me so cross.
I will write to Barclaycard & ask about an interest freeze & look at changing the payment due date to stop the late payment charges.
I hope you're all getting on ok
Well better than me this morning!

  • Afternoon all,

I'm starting my DMP with CCCS this month and have had a letter off them this morning. I have 2 overdrafts with LTSB. CCCS have written to them and they have replied to CCCS to say they have no record of these accounts!!!!! CCCS have advised me that I don't need to do anything re this and that they will make the monthly payments to them anyway but I'm a bit baffled as to what LTSB mean by this. Surely of they have 'no record of my accounts' I don't owe them any money (of course I know I do really) but why would they be saying this? Has anyone else had any experience of this?

I have also received a letter from AA Loans today. Apparently our outstanding balance has increased by over £3000 in just over a month. I'm guessing that they are whacking a great load of interest onto the balance before we start our reduced payments to them.......we have missed 2 payments to them so far totalling round £550 as we have only made token payments for the last 2 months. Does anyone think it would be worth writing to them to query why they have increased the balance or is there little I can do about it being in the situation that I'm in? Any pointers or advice would be gratefully received.

    Many thanks;)

Hi everyone, hope the weekend has started well for you. It's been much quieter this week! The phone calls tailed off mid-week and there's been nothing since, and I would have said the post has been very quiet until yesterday when I had a whole bunch, including a humdrum Stat Notice of Arrears from Alliance and Leicester (two payments missed now) and my long-awaited Default Notice from Egg (finally putting their money where their mouth is after three weeks). At least that's one down, and I suppose this means the interest etc is stopped now? Oh yes, and a text from HSBC asking me to call them but I know this is the time of the month when the statement is processed so I would think it would be collections asking for arrears. Won't phone as they are completely up to date with the situation and have my Payplan reference.

Also have my Halifax Easycash account now - it was the easiest easiest thing ever to set up (online) so if you haven't any creditor connections with them I recommend it :) I read somewhere on here about having one account for your wages to go in/direct debits to come out and another for everything else/spare and also to put aside a bit per month for any quarterly or irregular bills, so that's what I'm going to do. My water bill is quarterly and I'll put so much a month aside as well for dentist, Christmas etc.

PlainStupid45, sorry to hear how frustrating Barclaycard are being. My total balance has gone up by over a £1000 already since I did my DMP application due to bl**dy interest so hope things settle down and it eventually gets stopped too. I haven't stopped any PPI yet simply becasue I can't afford the registered postage for seven letters till payday! (Sad I know) Will do that this week.

  • I've just had a phone call from Barclaycard, we had a conversation of how Payplan are paying them and they confirmed that they have received the payment for August, there is a delay on the September one due to the bank holiday. I asked if they would alter the payment by due date so that it gave enough clearance for my payment to go to payplan and them on to themselves so they would'nt keep charging me £12 late payment fee. They guy on the phone said he could'nt do that as my account was in arrears!!! I feel a letter to them coming on!!!! Grrrrrrr what a bunch of........xxxxxx
sorry, I'm going to calm down and have a cuppa!!

Have your cuppa, write a letter then console yourself with the thought that in due course you can start a case to claim it back maybe?

So mbna called today again after my asking them to put everything in writing. Spoke to a supervisor and re-iterated that OH was not going to answer phone, dmp with payplan etc. They said they hadn't received any info so I gave them payplan's number and dmp ref.

Then checked post and there was a letter from them saying they received the token payment letter with dmp details. Their letter asked OH to send an soa and details of what he is paying to other creditors etc in order for them to comne to a reduced payment arrangement. I guess this is what payplan will be sending them anyway? Should I send them a new letter telling them that payplan will be sending them all the details they asked for and to correspond with them instead of OH? Or do they still have to correspond with him anyway? Don't want to annoy them too much!

    Hiya,

If this late payment fee is going to end up being a regular occurence I would get onto Payplan & ask them to speak to Barclaycard on your behalf. I had a similar problem with a couple of my creditors at the start but CCCS resolved one for me & the other one (HFC) were quite happy to change the date. It seems a bit petty on Barclaycard's part that they won't allow a few extra days.

Unfortunately I don't think you'll have any luck trying to get these charges back because the OFT have already ruled on the amount Credit Card companies can charge. Obviously old charges can be reclaimed but not new ones unless they are over what the OFT have said they are allowed.

    Hi JoJo,

I would just ask Payplan to resend the info. I wouldn't bother writing to them, you'll probably find they don't try & contact you for much longer anyway as you've received a letter. However, there is nothing you can do should they continue to contact your OH in writing, unfortunately they have no obligation to deal with Payplan or anyone else. It will settle down though, MBNA can be a pain in the a*** but it does eventually get through their thick-heads to leave you alone.

  • Evening
Wow, it's been a while since I posted - apologies. I kind of needed to back off a bit as it was all getting on top of me

Well, we've had a few months of our DMP with CCCS and it seems to be running smoothly. However, Lloyds are still charging us interest - we have 2 o/d and 2 cc with them so this is frustrating to say the least. They seem to have accepted the DMP without any confirmation and no hassling phonecalls or letters, but the interest continues. Not sure what to do on this one - any suggestions?

We have a review with CCCS this week - nothing has changed our end so I'm presuming we'll just continue as we are.

Will go back and read a few posts - good luck to any new DMPers!
Proud to be dealing with our debts!:j

Quick question for anyone on payplan: do they have a similar on-line account to cccs where you can view what payments have gone out and print out your budget etc? Thanks.
