Just saw your sig - I will be 48 by the time mine finishes :o

    And Gpuk - DFD 2033 I will be 54!!!

Well, hello Juniors! ;) - Do I hold the record? 19 years approx (and rising very rapidly thanks to 'What's In Your Wallet' :p) Will be 74 min  Do you think the bailiffs will gather in packs outside the Post Office to mug me for my pension???
Feel myself rapidly becoming a bit Monty Python - 'There were 500 of us living in a shoebox in the middle of the road' sort of thing. (Your're probably to young to know what I'm talking about!)
A good Good Bank holiday weekend to all - and rember don't blow the budget - there's a lot of September left to go!

Any advice gratefully received. I was feeling so positive yesterday after my appointment with CCCS but sat and thought about this last night and feel a bit sick again.... The CCCS counsellor said that on a DMP you often have to go backwards before you can go forwards, which I totally accept but I am worried that I'm going to be going so far backwards every month with Abbey once these cheques have gone through that I'll never catch up. Plus am worried about the demands they are likely to make about paying it back, court orders, bailiffs, etc etc.

    Help please!

    Thank you v much.

    Fraggle x

Really, really sorry I'm not able to advise you on your questions but sure someone will come along soon to help. Just wanted to say I know it is so difficult but try to stay positive. We've all done the 'feeling sick' thing and it takes you over completely but look to your own wellbeing - things will get better :)

My age was one of my motivations to get this whole mess sorted out , I couldn't stand the thought of turning 30 (in oct) and still being in a mess with life! Also couldn't stand the thought of 2010 looming ever closer and still putting off the inevitable, I always struggle for money in the winter months as it is when I earn the least comission, so I wouldn't have made it through this year!
    Goal weight....lighter than when I started :D

You've done the right (and brave) thing - you have acknowledged your problems and are dealing with them.

Thanks, I feel happy and scared in equal proportions at the moment, i'm not bothered about nasty phone calls (I work with the general public and get grief face to face) I was mega scared about bayliffs but I have read up about my rights etc and feeling a little better now as it doesn't look like they can do much, plus we live in a first floor flat so we can just check people out through the window before we let them in :D

Hopefully it won't ever get to that stage but I can't see all my creditors agreeing to £108 split 9 ways?!? It's just not enough!!

    Hi

You may get a surprise ! my debt is slightly lower than yours and my monthly CCCS deposit is only slightly more than your £108 and the majority of my creditors have accepted my DMP.
Just remember they can't have what you haven't got.

Hi all, just got a mesage from Egg to say that if I am now on a DMP (I mailed them as they were constantly calling) I will need to call their 'Collections Dept' to discuss.

I have made a pro-rata offer so do I need to talk to them? I'm doing this my self not with PP or CCCS.

    Any thoughts please?

    Thanks

One thing about being skint is I appreciate treats more when I can have them.A colleague retired yesterday & laid on a lovely buffet in the office. As it was pay day a lot of my solvent colleagues headed off to the pub. This meant lots of food would have gone to waste so I volunteered to help out.I bagged what I could save & took it home.Lots of nibbles for the weekend!:D

Hope you enjoy your free nibbling-great freebie food idea! :) And isn't it wonderful when good fortune comes our 'skint' way? Bought padded waistcoat at car boot this morning for £1-50, got it home and discovered £1-21 in the pocket. Would honestly have taken it back to confess but sale would have been over. But to confirm what you say a treat is a treat -a coffee in a supermarket is living the high life - but so proud it's paid for in CASH, 'real' money!

    Hi cloudy-day,
I think Egg want you to phone them for one reason and thats to try to get you to agree more, otherwise they would just accept the pro rata payment you've offered.
Stick to your guns, pay what you've offered and only communicate in writing.

Londonfraggle, not sure what you mean by ""cheque loans, but will your former bank even hounour these payments when that account is on a DMP. Is it an option for you to try to negotiate some other way to pay them? Not much advice really to give, hope you get sorted, could CCCS not offer any advice?

To everyone who's facing a very long time before their DFD, at least you're doing your best to deal with the situation and who knows what can happen between now and then to change the situation. Keep strong everyone.

I think Fraggle is talking about those payday loans? TBH I had one for 50 quid that I didn't tell PP about and paid off myself, but I know they can be a bit nasty...
