grrr IE8 - how do i change initial tab contents?

ive installed the latest ms update which included ie8. now every time i open a new tab rather than going to my home page i get a ms default page asking me 'what do you want to do?' and with options such as 'reopen closed tabs' and 'use an accelerator'

'what i want to do' is have google back as the first thing i see!

i cant find any way of getting rid of this 'helpful' starter page. my homepage is still set as google. can anyone help?

i hate the way ms takes over my pc.

go to "tools" then "Internet options" , it at the bottom of the "general" tab, click on the "settings" bit next to change tabs
