glasses cover?

Hi everyone,

I have just found out that i need glasses for when i'm reading or on the computer, both of which i do a lot of!

I am pleased to have found out why i have spent the last few months of my life with eye strain but the problem is one of my eyes is compensating for the other so i need glasses that have a different lens for each eye...

this means i can't just go and buy cheap reading glasses and in turn means i have to spend quite a lot on a decent pair of glasses :(

does anyone know of a decent health cover that would help me out with the costs and if it includes dental then even better because i usually spend about £200 a year on dental treatment!

Many thanks in advance

Matt

HSA might be worth looking at..... http://www.hsa.co.uk/hsa/pages/homepage.jsp

Also, have you spoken to your employer at all??? Mine will pay for the eye test and £40 towards the lenses if you spend enough time on the computer as part of your job!

Have you looked into buying your specs online? I know some people aren't comfortable with this but hubby and I have been buying ours online for a few years now and can recommend it.
Just recently I received a pair from goggles4u for £20 and they are great, as per usual.

Why do you need to spend a lot?
Glasses with prescription lenses are available from £10-£15 these days.
You might find you want a style which costs more, but they really aren't expensive for single vision these days.
If your not flush then don't pay for any of the extra coating etc. and have a look round everywhere as you might find a cheap style you like.

    I pay Westfield Health

They pay for dental (me and kids), optical plus lots of other benefits.
(I'm in Good for you Level 4 which is about £20.00 a month)
Actually as I just went for the link they have an offer on at the moment where you can receive benefits as soon as you start paying. Usually there's a 6-12 month waiting period so worth looking into.
