Problem with Windows Mail -- advice welcome!

Hi Techies, hope you can help!
I've been using "Windows Mail" for my mail without a problem for a couple of years.
Now I have the following problem:
I noticed that since Tuesday none of my mails sent from there are going through; they all end up in my outbox. Even when I resend them from the outbox, they don't leave.

I deleted the unsent mails in my outbox, but the top one won't be deleted. When I try to delete it, I get an error message saying "Unknown Error". The same when I try to move the message to another folder. It just won't go. I've tried all kinds of things, for instance editing it to send it to another address, but that doesn't work either.

Obviously, it is that message that is causing the problem, but I don't know how to undo it. Strangely enough, the mail in that message did go to the addressee, but a copy of it remained in the outbox.

Anyone know how to deal with the problem? I can always use google mail to send my mails, but Windows Mail is so convenient.

Thanks a million! I've done the download; it still isn't working, but now I will restart the computer and try again.

Thank you again! After restarting I was able to delete it.
