From Monday Santander are putting their highest current account interest rates for Abbey and Alliance and Leicester back up to 6%. But remember that it's one year first £2,500 only plus dodgy customer service. Details and comment here

Many thanks for flagging this up. I keep £2,500 in an A&L Premier Direct account, churn through £500 each month (in one day, out the next). It will now pay £10 net a month interest which is credited to the account on the 2nd and moved straight out to a higher interest account the same day.

Still 10 months to go on the deal.

What accounts though as they have various 'current accounts'?

Hope it is Premier Current Account for current customers as just switched 3 accounts via Quidco from Lloyds TSB as their offer (that started out like this last summer) was coming to an end this month.

It will be Premier Direct rather than Premier Current. I also suspect it will be for new accounts only, but check the website on Monday.
