never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.0 -
I only went away for a week and can't believe how many pages there are to catch up on. Any major points I may have missed?0

I used the coupons attached to the neck of the bottles. The Rinse Aid is £2.50 (Coupon is £3.00 50p profit) :j
Taking them off at the checkout is useful as the profit made comes off the rest of my shopping.
:T
I think the question was why would you use so many when you are not buying the product that the coupon is for? The coupon is for Finish Quantums (?) but you are buying Rinse Aid with them. Not sure I'd be comfortabley emptying the shelves and doing this myself, could easily be interpreted as coupon abuse.0 -
Maybe printing all the warburtons coupons broke it!! If you play by the rules, and use your thanks buttons, your printer might spring back to life

How many of us buy the product the coupon was intended for?0 -

Not many but I think the op was getting at the point that the £3 mocs on the rinse aid is meant to be used for finish quantum and as you are not buying finish quantum you should only be using one £3 moc from the rinse aid per transaction. :j:j:j0 -
Went to Tesco tonight just to see if there were any bargains on the reduced stand but I think I must have left it too late - the shelf was empty!
I proceeded to the checkout with £26 of shopping in my basket and £21 of coupons in my hand. The SA started scanning the coupons and then pressed her buzzer for a supervisor. She queried whether the coupons were allowed and the supervisor said only 10% of the bill (that is a new one on me at this particular store) so I asked how long it had been the case and she said the policy was changing each week. Anyway she offered to check with the manager to which I said yes. When she came back she said the manager said I couldn't use any unless I had bought the product so the coupons which had already been scanned were then cancelled and I was requested to pay for my shopping.
I still 'kept my cool' and politely asked if I could see the manager (at this point I decided to pay for my shopping). Eventually the manager arrived and reiterated that I could only use coupons if I had bought the product. This is when I got out 'The Coupon Policy'. He said he had never heard of this and would check with Head Office tomorrow and so he took my name and phone number and promised to ring me by Friday.
On my arrival home the phone was ringing and it was Tesco with an apology saying I was correct and that the manager was unaware of the correct policy. I was assured that they would be implementing more training on the coupon policy so that this would not happen again. I was also assured that I could use as many coupons as I liked (not the 10% limit that the supervisor had tried to implement).
So having gone from feeling very deflated and thinking my coupon times had come to an end, I now feel back on a high in the full knowledge that I now have a name to quote should I have any problems in the future. :T0 -

Oh well done you, isn't it frustrating when you know the policy but the staff say it's wrong
Did you show the policy from the first page from here?
Am so pleased for you though :T:T0
