I got a Live CD of Kubuntu 9.04 through the letterbox today. I booted the cd in my laptop and it was very nice. Easy to use, all the hardware worked, the desktop looked snazzy, it was an enjoyable experience.
I've tried earlier versions of ubuntu and kubuntu and this I could use on a regular basis. I reccomend it to anyone without an OS.

Good advice.
People without an overwhelming reason to run Windows (such as needing to run recent Windows games) would do well to investigate the alternatives.0 -

Agreed. I wont be swaping it for vista on my lappy but it might work nicely on my desktop, and i might try installing on my ps3.0 -
Tongue in Cheek, as indicated by theOn another computer? Spider Senses? A friend on MSE? Thats not my problem mate, im just passing on the info.
. Just seems a little funny, like giving instructions on how to troubleshoot a broken internet connection on the internet. Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0 -
There's no need to swap. I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed via Wubi on a Vista laptop - it can be uninstalled just like any other Windows application, if no longer required.Agreed. I wont be swaping it for vista on my lappy but it might work nicely on my desktop, and i might try installing on my ps3.
Most of the *buntu variants/desktop environments can be installed with Wubi.0 -

I really like it but installing both is a bit pointlessisnt it? Anything I can do on Ubuntu I can on Vista. they both do the same job so if i install both it would be for tinkering about.0
