Can you add sugar (or sweetener) to the yog to sweeten it more without any adverse affects so OH stops adding high cal flavourings?

Yes, although I find it's best to add it to the yoghurt just before you eat it, rather than flavouring a whole batch at once.

I add some vanilla sugar or some sweetener to my plain yoghurt all the time.

Yes, its best just to do it when you are going to eat it. Then you can add different flavours to each serving. If you are going to add sweetener, I would use Splenda as it doesnt have the nasty Asparteme or Acusaflame(spelling !!).
But if you use some pureed fruit or chopped fruit, you can get away with no sweetener if the fruit is nice and ripe.. If you dont leave the yog 'yogging' for too long it wont be too sharp. between 4 & 6 hours MAX in an electric maker.

My electric maker says 8 hours but I will try 6 to see what difference it makes.

I tried real strawberries which was lovely but real pear was a bit yuck and tasteless.

    thanks everyone
