I usually buy Frubes because they're in a tube and there isn't any mess with empty pots and spoons (that they never bring home).....
when I have messy items like that i use storage containers with reliably good seals, you can find them in tiny square or round shapes. if you're worried about it spilling anyway buy a roll of 1000 thin lunch sacks, most home stores will sell them for £1-2 (lasts for ages) then wrap this around the storage container or tupperware as i call everything, tupperware or notthe bag will catch any possible leaks and can be thrown away. if it doesn't get spilled on it can be saved and used again!

what about using greek yogurt as a starter, does it make the yogurt thicker by any chance (probably really reaching here
)

I always use greek yoghurt as a starter .. and leave the yoghurt maker on for 8-10 hours. I get lovely thick yoghurts - not thick greek style (I strain it to get this) I buy the greek yoghurt 'cause I like to eat the extra bits left in the potEnjoying an MSE OS life0

With electric yog makers, does the amount of time that you leave it 'yogging' have any effect on the thickness of the finished yog. I was told that it only affects the taste. The longer you leave it the 'sharper' it is.0

What's people's favourite starter? I used the original Easiyo plain that came with my maker which was quite sharp, and since then I've used a Yeo Valley plain yoghurt as a starter which gives a much milder yoghurt.
Anyone have any other favourites?0 -

I've found that leaving it longer in my electric (Lakeland) yoghurt maker does make it thicker ... have noticed a slight extra sharpness .. but could also put this down to using skimmed UHT rather than semi skimmed UHT milk. To be honest it is all niceEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -

Yeo Valley plain for me too. I didn't like the consistency of the Easyo plain that came with the maker.The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
Tesco's own brand greek yoghurt as a starter.
Made a lovely smoothie in an effort to make a low point WW desert ...
1 banana
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
3 tablespoons of HM yoghurt
whizzed together and shared between 2 (I would have drunk the lot if OH hadn't seen me making it)
