Walkers/Brit Trips Promotion - 'lost' points! Beware!

I looked for the Holiday Inn promotion and hotel that we have to stay at in October, for a wedding, is on there. Bought some more crisps to up the points and logged on, went through their site and put the code in as you cannot look for breaks without it and lo and behold that particular hotel was 'not offering this promotion'.
And now the 35 points have been deducted from my points total. So now I have lost the 35 points and I can only use them for staying at a Holiday Inn. And as the hotel we want is not on the list and there is nowhere else we want to go it means they are now lost.
Very annoyed. Be aware of this before looking for something as it takes the points before it can confirm the offer is actually available.
I've emailed to complain but it says on the list that once points have been allocated they cannot be refunded. I want to look for other places for the rest of the points but am scared to lose those as well.

same happened with me, quite annoying but if it's more holiday inn's, express holiday inn or crown plaza you are looking for you can enter the website with the same access no you used the 1st time, you can keep using the same access no until you actually make a booking, i've been on loads of time, checking different hotels/dates and it only 'cost' my original 35 points. If you're not sure of the no, you can find it in 'my account, points history'.
There is also another deal for 2 for 1 holiday inn posted http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1535105
that might help you without having to save walkers points.0
